ACT Internship:
Location: Remote with occasional travel in Tennessee
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Social Work Intern to join our team at ACT, where our mission is to support folks seeking abortion care. The ideal candidate will assist in crucial community research, focusing on identifying and connecting with abortion friendly healthcare providers across Tennessee. This role is pivotal in ensuring our clients have access to compassionate, reliable, and accessible healthcare options.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct research to identify and compile a comprehensive list of pro-abortion healthcare providers in Tennessee.
Engage with local community organizations and healthcare facilities to gather information and establish connections.
Assist in mapping and evaluating service accessibility and provider availability.
Contribute to the development of resources and referral networks for clients.
Support the team in developing outreach strategies and improving client support systems.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a degree in Social Work, Public Health, or a related field.
Strong research and organizational skills.
Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
Commitment to reproductive rights and social justice.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Are you a nurse interested in an training in abortion care residency?
The Training in Abortion Care (TAC) Residency through Nurses for Sexual and Reproductive Health (NSRH) is a clinical training program for registered nurses and licensed practice/vocational nurses to gain hands-on experience in abortion care as well as improve their capacity to be regional abortion advocates.
This year, NSRH is partnering with Choices-Carbondale and Partners in Abortion Care to offer training to nurses in Illinois and Maryland. Any nurse in Arkansas, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, or Tennessee is eligible for placement at Choices-Carbondale.
This residency will run January - June 2025 and applications are open through October 14th.
We need volunteers.
ACT is a small-but-mighty organization, made up of a handful of dedicated staff and volunteers. When you volunteer, your work will directly benefit Tennesseans seeking help with abortion care.
