Our mission is to build power for Tennesseans by increasing access to reproductive and sexual health care, including safe abortion for all people.
We envision a Tennessee where everyone – regardless of race, gender, income, language, ability, documentation, or sexual identity – is free from reproductive control, oppression, and stigma.
We envision a Tennessee where everyone's right to bodily autonomy is honored and protected.
Where it all began, and where we’re going.
First of all: Abortion Care Tennessee is not going anywhere.
Accessing affordable reproductive health care in Tennessee has never been easy. We founded Abortion Care Tennessee in 2019 with the help of generous seed money from Healthy and Free Tennessee and the simple mission of helping Tennesseans seeking abortions afford the care they need, free of stigma and financial barriers. Little did we know what was coming.
Fast forward to 2020, when abortion access was all but banned in Tennessee with the Heartbeat Bill, limiting abortions to six weeks.
Then, on June 24, 2022, Roe vs. Wade was overturned, and the unthinkable suddenly became reality.
In an instant we got louder, bigger, and even more committed to making sure all Tennesseans seeking abortions would get the support and funding they need for out-of-state reproductive care.
As long as the war on bodily autonomy continues, we'll be alongside you every step of the way.
While abortion access is serious business, there’s joy in caring for each other and our community. So we'll throw a lot of fundraising dance parties while we're at it.
